On Saturday 15th October, Bexley Rugby Club celebrated our annual Blue & White Day with winning matches for both our men’s and women’s team.
They were also joined by the junior section who had moved their training a day forward to join in with the celebrations.
The day started with a World Cup match between England and France, with England coming out on top. After that, the junior section had an hour of fun, games and training, including having the use of a bouncy castle.
Prior to the women’s match against Rochford, the children gave a tunnel of honour to both teams and wished them luck for the game (see video). The games itself was watch by a good crowd and the Bexley ladies were victorious, winning 38-7, their first win of the season.
Afterwards, the use of the BBQ, cake stall and drinks area was busy as the crowd watched the men starting their warm-up for the match against Dartford Valley 2’s. This was another good match with Bexley coming out as victors, 29-7.
Finally, it was really great to hear that from donations and results of the cake stall sales, we made £100 for our club charity, Balls For Brains.
It was a great day, and it was wonderful to see so many club members, families and loved ones supporting our teams and joining in with the celebrations. Even the rain did not dampen enthusiasm.
